The box arrived with damage but all parts were accounted for, installation took about 45 minutes from start to finished. Instructions are clear and concise, please make sure to read them thoroughly before starting as some pieces like the locking hex nuts are specifically meant for certain parts.First use was after a light snowfall, the plow had zero issues clearing the snow. I tried to move a few bigger snow piles and also had no issues.Overall I am very impressed with the snowplow, I give it a solid 9/10.Very affordable!!

I was tired of the old snow blower struggling with the heavy snow, so I ordered this plow for my lawn tractor. Strictly home use, nothing else.Came as describe and was the perfect fit for my brand of tractor. It was easy to install, good quality and I have enjoyed using it this year.Just amazing!!

Bought this plow for my dad as he’s getting older and I didn’t want him suffering while having to push his snow plow back and fourth this winter, and he’s absolutely in love with it! We live in Canada and got a heavy snowfall so it was the perfect time to see what it’s capable of and it works like a charm and a lot faster than the snow blower! I will say we do plan on putting rods in it to get it to pivot without having to manually do it but it’s an absolute game changer

Close to the end of assembly I noticed a missing skid plate as well as a lock nut for the skid plate bolt. So what now? Cannot return because I opened the partially open box an started assembly.Could initially not fix the bracket to the blade because of an oversized weld which I had to grind down. So nobody checked if it could be assembled. The weld on the other side was half done. How long will this last?No option at Amazon to request the missing part.

I used it to move dirt on my backyard and it worked very well. It took me some time to figure out the connection to my tractor, but when was connected it worked well.

As it often happens, I've ordered this plow after the heavy snowfall, and there wasn't another one, so I haven't got a chance yet to try it in proper action. But I've had piles of snow still sitting around next to the driveway, so I've set to moving them farther onto the grass. It took me some time to learn how to do things right, but on the second attempt it was eventually a success. And when I've got the tractor stuck and had to do some manual shoveling, I've discovered that the snow was very dense and heavy, I could not even throw a shovelful of it, so I've got pretty impressed with the blade. So, how to do it: The instruction says to set the spring for the automatic release of the blade for the weakest position, and then tighten when needed. Well, it's always needs to be tightened, the weakest position is way too weak. Tighten it to the half-way position right away. Then, to move the heavy snow, tilt the blade to the left (or right, mirroring), accelerate and break off a chunk with the right edge of the blade. Then back off, shift to the left, and drive this chunk away. With the higher pile, sometimes you need to break off the chunk with a partially-raised blade, to avoid grabbing too much. The blade slides well over even the bumpy the grass without digging in.The instruction says to remove the mower deck when plowing, and I now know why: not only it's sticking out to the side, but this sticking-out part also rides over the compressed snow, lifting the rear tire, and making the tractor stuck. But if you take care to avoid doing that, then the deck doesn't get too much in the way, and there seem to be no structural reasons. The blade also worked well on the compost but not to scrape the unevenness on the grass, the whole package just either gets stuck or the blade flips on the spring when trying to straighten the grass. The rubber cover on the blade lifting handle doesn't stay put, needs to be glued. But the handle feels too short anyway: it's OK if you just lift or lower the blade once in a while, but not convenient for adjusting the blade to an intermediate position. I plan to extend it with another tube.Packaging: not very good, the bag with the small parts got broken, and the parts spread around the box. Fortunately, only one pin got lost.Installation: Fit well on my Craftsman 247-series garden tractor. The instruction is easy to follow, but the instruction gets the assembly order backwards: it's much easier to start with placing the mount on the tractor and then adding other parts piecemeal onto it than to lift the whole assembled blade onto the tractor. Unfortunately, once you place the mount on the tractor, there is no easy way to put the bumper back on, other than by unbolting and bolting again. I wish the bumper had the same quick-mount system as the blade.

First time out with the snowblower today and it failed within the first 30 minutes. I hit a small rock about half the size of my fist but none of the shear pins broke. Instead the coupler (Part number 918-0691) between the angle drive and the impeller blew apart. Called MTD and their response was, "sorry."

Some assembly required, but hey, that's half the fun! Arrived earlier than expected and is wholly complete - I'm just not that anxious to put it on and start blowing snow up here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Where's that global warming!
