I started carrying these instead of a multi-tool because I found myself using pliers a lot. These are much better than any multi-tool pliers. There is a small cutout for gripping smallish round objects that works great. Also one side is slightly rounded to conform to flat things of varying thicknesses. Finally the cutters are sharp and seem durable. I've used all these features already in fact. They saved me when I had to make an emergency repair to a leaking coolant hose on the side of the road. I do find that I need a larger opening sometimes but that just means I'll have to pick up a pair of the Knipex Cobras to go with these.
