Review for: "NETVUE Peekababy Baby Camera, Camera & Audio, 4-in-1 Crib Mount, Smart App, Sleep Analysis, Blue"Brand: NETVUEColour: Light BlueFirst look: The Light Blue Netvue Peekababy Camera came in a box (26.8 cm x 16.7 cm x 7.1 cm) with the User manual, Quick start guide, another information sheet, and a thank you card with support information. The box also contained the mounting clamp, USB-C to USB-C cable (78" / 98 cm long), USB-C to USB-A adapter, USB-A wall plug with UL safety certification for use in Canada, mounting pole & extension pole, white disassembly tool (for taking the poles apart), and the wall-mount box with screw template & hardware. There is a microSD (TF) card slot but the card is not included. The USB port is on the stem of the camera.Measurements: The camera bends at the bottom to be able to sit up on its own, but the gooseneck isn't long enough to wrap well around the crib bars. The height of the piece with the camera is about 17 cm high when bent to sit or 35.5 cm high when straight. The camera itself is about 7.5 cm high x 6 cm wide x 2.8 cm deep. The mounting pole is 20 cm long x 2 cm wide and the extension tube is 25.8 cm high.App: The camera uses the app "Netvue - In Sight In Mind" (2.1 stars, 3K reviews, 500K+ downloads on Android). I filled in the email and password and then it took me to a screen that said I needed to download a different app: "Netvue Next - In Sight In Mind" (3.2 stars, 173 reviews, 10K+ downloads). Then I signed back in with the email and password I created on the other one. It asked if the light was on the camera which it was, then wanted to pair with the monitor. This set doesn't come with a monitor and there was no "skip" button. I ended up saying something to the effect of "yes it's paired" for it to go to the next screen.Opinion: I tried to use the app but a lot of the options require a paid subscription. For example, the cooldown time has a minimum of 5 minutes without the subscription, and there is no way to adjust the video length without paying. There are separate fees for the Continuous Video Recording and the Moment Video Recording. I have tested quite a few nanny cams and usually the subscription is only for extra cloud space. Others also come with a monitor. On this one, the video "Moments" that were recorded for free are 12 seconds or less in length with 5 mins between each video. I didn't find the video or sound quality that great compared to others. The app has alerts for motion but it seems you need to pay to get alerts for sound. Because this camera is wired it can be a choking hazard so mount it where the baby can't reach the wire. I would prefer a rechargeable nanny camera for that reason. On a positive note, the live view works fine and can easily record or take a picture with a press of a button.

I’ve been using the NETVUE Peekababy Baby Camera for a couple weeks now, and I’m impressed! The crib mount makes it super easy to position perfectly over the crib without needing to drill holes or find the right angle on a dresser. The camera quality is good, with clear HD video both day and night, and the two-way audio works great.One of the standout features is the smart app. It’s easy to use, and allows me to check in from anywhere. I love that I can get motion and sound alerts, which gives me peace of mind, especially during naps and overnight.Setup was quick and simple, the connection has been reliable, and considering all the features, the price is very reasonable compared to other baby monitors on the market.

One of the first things I noticed about the Netvue baby monitor is that it has a number of features including crying detection and the ability to stream to an Alexa device. The camera is able to provide a clear image, even in darker conditions, which is extremely important at night time if you do not have a light on in your child's room.In addition to the camera, you have a mounting clamp, mounting pole and extension pole that you can use to mount the camera directly onto your crib. You also have a wall mount box with components you can use for mounting to a wall which is my preferred method so that it stays out of sight and out of the way. The arm that is attached to the camera is bendable to allow you to manipulate the angle to your liking so that you can get the optimal image. You could also wrap this bendable arm around something to keep it in place if you prefer to do that instead of using the clip. Since there are numerous ways to mount the camera, this should work for almost all different setups.To provide power to the camera you have a cable and power adapter which operates at DC5V / 1A. This system does not use batteries so you will have to keep the camera connected to your wall outlet during use.The camera has a built-in microphone for audio monitoring and a speaker which allows you to communicate. There is even a temperature sensor that will let you get real time measurements of the room temperature. You have the ability to add a micro SD memory card in order to store recordings long term. If you do not want to use the SD card, the company offers subscriptions for cloud based continuous video recording as well as moment video.There is a quick start guide and a full user manual provided. The quickstart guide has instructions to get you up and running easily with information about powering the camera and pairing with the smartphone app as well as mounting. The official Netvue app is available for download from the iOS app store and Google play and will work with most smartphones.Overall the design of this product is very well done and thoughtful. This product would make a great gift for a new family that is expecting a child.
