With the open bottom design, it disperses a allot of light, on an 8' pole.

I liked the easy installation and the look of the light fixture. The only downfall is that the manufacturer put the screwws, washers etc. loose in the box instead of in a plastic bag so if you open the box outside they could easily get lost.

This fixture is made well and does not have any plastic parts. Metal housing with glass inserts. Simple to install ( this was a replacement so all wiring was already in place). Good value for the money since a lot of less expensive fixtures are made of plastic and don't last that long.

One glasses broken, just a sliver off the edge, found the sliver before noticing where it broke from. Turned that side away from view, all good.

Exactly as advertised, looks prim and proper, the main light section is a little on the thin side so bear that in mind if it impacts the look you are going for. Easy to connect or install with all pieces included.

Cost reflects quality of product. Glass was broken when it arrived so returned it for replacement. Second one arrived with glass broken as well. Ultimately, I had to pull a good piece of glass from the second one and replaced the broken piece in the first one to get one good light fixture. Overall, I am pleased with the fixture itself.

The Nuvo 60/4907 post lantern looks a little small on a standard 3-inch lamp post. But it works. The build quality is okay, paint finish is good (I ordered two in white), none of the glass was broken or cracked. The only quality issue I noticed was some metal flashing along the inner edges of one of the panels. I didn't bother to remove it and repaint---I just positioned the lantern so that side wouldn't show. The bottom is open. I may add some screen later. The bulb socket is positioned just a little high, in my opinion, since many LED bulbs only light up on the top half. The frosted glass diffuses the light well enough though. So no real complaints. Overall it's pretty good bang for the buck.

I find other's comments about it being of poor quality or flimsy, strange. It's well made and sturdy. No need for it to be any heavier. Had to cut back the small mounting bolts in order to get it to tighten closely to the base on our porch wall. I like that it exactly matches in size and design the lamp we purchased for our yard lamp post - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B008RAH9UY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. The frosted glass makes for nicely diffused lighting, rather than seeing the glaring bulb so brightly.

OK, the good thing about these lights is that they are very easy to install and they look very nice. Overall I would say for they money there are a decent buy. They see a bit light and flimsy to me. Mind you I live in the Turks & Caicos Islands and bought these to replace the post lanterns that Hurricane Irma tore right off...so I was hoping they would be a bit heavier duty. they seem to rattle a bit in the wind...but oh well they do work. The packaging was good...although every one I opened up had tiny bits of broken glass. The glass was not from the lights themselves...just somehow it ended up in all 4 of the lights I bought...weird.

The unit was fine, much smaller than I anticipated and the product is very flimsy--might get a few seasons out of it. But the price was ok given the quality and the size of the unit

Excellent outdoor lamp- cast aluminum but quite thin, with the price of aluminum this is a bargain. Real glass in my case I got a good frosted glass, I think if you look around seeded glass is available too. Look all over I think the first one I got for a pole out front cost me all of $11 and change, the next three were not as inexpensive but a bargain just the same, $35.99-.I also wanted it to be dual light motion detector so I picked up a "Heath/Zenith SL-5316-BZ-C Deluxe Replacement Motion Sensor with DualBrite, $19.95 Bronze" why bronze? the other choice was white but the reviews for white were abysmal ... the bronze they were good reviews, same sensor different colors, I have a theory the white housing lets in too much light which confuses the heck out of it.So for $55.94 I got motion sensors with dualbright, a very nice feature- it acts as an accent light on low until it senses motion, then it goes full bright, excellent look and you are never walking up on a pitch dark area.Sadly everything they say about dualbright is true, tried CFL's (Compact fluorescent lamps) and LED's both dimmable ... The LED's were on the expensive side, the CFL's were good name brands ... what happens is they work but not enough times in a row to be useable, they work exactly once in dualbright then flicker like a light show ... after further reading it turns out how they dim the bulb is by flickering it at such a high speed it looks like it's constantly on - sounded to me like it would be a light bulb killer but incandescent lights have worked for a while now- oh the wattage I put in was low like 40 watts for porch light and post light- at full power it's quite bright combined so to try it out I was thinking 25 watts and see if it looks ok, it won't light up the front yard like a prison yard but it won't disturb the neighbors either. Oh I haven't given up on the CFL's and LED's the flickering light show was two dimmable LED's and then 2 CFL"S on the same sensor, that may have led to poor results. (wishful thinking)but I'd like to see them work on individual dimmable CFL's and LED's.oh why did I merge the two? a lamp and a sensor? the ones that come with a sensor built in, there are few choices (none) to point the motion sensor that means lowering the sensitivity so passing cars don't fire it off and the neighbor walking on their own path don't have my lights coming on.
