it fails to put the plastic segments back together, it will pull them apart but the little metal u shapes just pop out when you try to push them back together so is useless.

So, this is a pair of 1/4 pliers for tubing. Does 1/4 mean 1/4"? NO. This comes with two loose metal gasket plates that you're supposed to somehow put into the pliers. Okay. I hammered them in, giving this system the best chance of working short of welding them on. Trying to connect two pieces of armature, one of the plates flew off across the room. Could have hit me in the eye. Do not recommend. Returning this.

Before I found this product, I was trying to pull the armature apart with my hands and other tools and it was not working. I found this tool and now I am able to do it so simply.

One heck of a learning curve with these things, though the armature I bought being 6mm instead of 7mm made things extra tricky. Pulling pieces apart works like a dream, trying to push pieces back together feels extremely awkward without any slots to rest the 7mm brackets into.While trying to overcome the learning curve before realizing the armature I bought was slightly too small, I managed to bend BOTH of the 7mm brackets. That might be my fault more than a fault of the product, but I figured I'd mention it.

The inserts to use this with the small sized joints are terrible and are only really (sort of good) for taking joints apart and are terrible for trying to put joints together. If you are working with the larger sized joints, it is probably fine, but the inserts for use with the smaller joints were not well thought out.

Absolutely infuriating purchase. I don't know if Amazon redirected me at the last minute or what, but I swear I was buying something with better reviews until I get them, find these are absolute garbage, and come back to see this is reflected in the reviews.They're WAY too big for the size they claim to be and come with these stupid little metal bits floating about. They don't fit correctly into the pliers at ALL, and make what should be such a SIMPLE process completely infuriating.DO NOT BUY.
