About this item

  • Power: 20W (hybrid)
  • Tube: one 12AX7 tube preamp with solid state power amp
  • Controls: Volume, tone and Gain
  • Headphone output & Aux input for MP3

The Micro Terror is a global phenomenon. Taking its inspiration from the original Tiny Terror, this miniature incarnation couples a valve preamp to a solid state output section for enormous tones that makes a mockery of its pint-sized frame. Weighing in at under 1 kilo, the Micro Terror is arguably the most portable amp head on the market. When paired with its matching PPC108 cabinet, the Micro Terror’s Aux Input and Headphone output make it a perfect practice partner, small enough for even the most cluttered sideboard. However, don’t be fooled by its miniature footprint because size is the only thing that is small about this amp. With a high tensile steel casing, the Micro Terror is built to the same high standards as the rest of the Terror family and features a single 12AX7/ECC83 preamp valve, coupled to a solid state output section. The depth of sound (and volume) that this little thing pushes out is truly staggering, with Orange growl and bite in abundance. What’s more, the Micro Terror can be used with any 8-16 Ohm speaker cabinet.

I love this amp so much. It has the Orange sound and has enough power to keep up with other 100 watt guitar amps. I have used this amp at band practice plugged into my 4x12 Marshall amp and it's loud enough to hear over the drums. Mine is regularly plugged into a single speaker Fender extension cabinet for home use.The cleans that you get are super rich and full sounding and the gain sound awesome as well. You can really mix the volume and gain to find some great great sounds. There is only one EQ knob, which is no problem. I kind of keep it around 2 o'clock. The downside of this amp is there is no effects loop. I totally understand that for the price you don't get a boat load of features, and what you do get is phenomenal. Also, the headphones sound kind of sucks. I used it a couple of times and thought it sounded buzzy. Whatever, still 5 stars.

Just loud enough to jam alongside a hard hitting drummer. Very simple and effective. Sounds really nice if you like crunchy tones.

I wasn't expecting a lot for this price, but this thing can kick some ass. About 30% volume and almost no gain, and it's plenty loud for home. Only the pre-amp is tube, but it still has a nice creamy tube sound. Not glassy at all, more of a Marshall tone than Vox. It's built like a brick, too. Even the power switch is Micro, but solid. For a couple hundred bucks, might as well have one handy.

I purchased this amp as a practice amp. I liked the fact that it had the tube pre-amp and a solid state power section, which allowed the use of a headphone jack and the aux in.When I tried the amp through my Marshall 4x12 cabinet I was blown away by the tone and the volume. This could easily keep up with a live drummer, and would make a great practice amp. The overdrive tone is warm with all the high gain distortion I need. It also takes pedals well.

Far exceeded any and all expectations. For something so small and simple this thing packs a punch. Don't let the single tone knob scare you away as it's extremely responsive. Takes pedals extremely well and does well for apartment living. I'm enjoying it with the 8 inch cab so I can only imagine what it's going to be like when I get a 2 or 4x12 to run it through. Most bang for buck music wise I think I ever spent.

Bought as a gift for my boyfriend combined with the Orange Amp- PPC108 1c8 Closed Back Speaker Cabinet. He loved it. He mostly plays metal so I was a little concerned about how this amp would do for the sound that he likes, but he says it sounds great. He recently bought a reverb pedal to go with it, and says it sounds amazing. This little amp combo has an amazing bang for its buck, and I would strongly recommend it if you want something that sounds amazing but wont break your bank account of take up too much space.

Great gig-able amp, but power adapter is too cheap to bring amp out on road as it would get damaged easily. Also The ground is a wire with a clip on the end (why not a three pronged plug?), and it leaves you trying to find a ground to clip on to or you have to try and clip it into the ground socket of an adjacent outlet. I replaced plug with a fully grounded printer plug and it is now grounded properly I upgraded Valve to Tung Sol 12AX7 Gold. It adds more valve response and also gives the amp a few more watts of power, this valve upgrade is popular for this amp. Sounds great with Strat but amp comes alive when played with a humbucker or p90 guitar. This is the perfect amp to get the "Woman" tone (Mississippi queen, sunshine of your love, big sugar, Randy Bachman, C'mon, Danko Jones, Black Sabath), Would suggest Boss Blues Driver BD-W2 to enhance "Woman Tone", also pairs nicely with Digitech Bad Monkey or Fulltone OCD. This amp could easily push a 2 x 12 cab but it may be a little weak to fully push a 4x12.
