Easy to assemble. Roof is painted, I poly'd the whole thing along with other outdoor barely finished, wood things. We did not need owls, but needed an enclosure for an electric fence module, this was the closest bird box that fit. Put the perch on the old bird box (too small for the new electric fence module), covered the owl hole, put holes in the bottom for the wires in and out, and it has made it thorugh the winter, so far, with high winds, (68 mph yesterday).

Very misleading product description. Item described as "cedar wood" but is actually pine.

Holes in the wrong place. No assembly instructions. One board was warped. Wood seems soft not hard. Nothing sits flush. Hope an owl likes it enough!

Very disappointed in the quality, wood panels were badly warped soft pine and required redrilling of the pilot holes to get the panels to fit. Roof panels were drilled in wrong places and only one panel had the chamfered edge to make the apex. Screw missing. Pictures say mounting hardware included, but there isn't any however that was expected. Definitely think the lack of instructions especially about how to secure at height will be a problem for many people. Recommended separate mounts and attach box to mounts, doesn't look strong enough to directly mount at height straight from back panel.For the price paid, the effort would have been better spend building it from quality timber from DIY centre.Let's see if the local owls care.

Nice birdhouse. Arrived with no instructions and one missing screw. Wood is PINE not cedar.
