I was hoping the light bar could be controlled by a switch controlled outlet but nope. You have to use the remote control to power the light bar. The light fixture works so 2 stars. The required remote to power gets a 3 star reduction.

Normally the picture lights I have purchased are $200+, but I wanted to avoid that and also a dud. Luckily this light is affordable and effective. It has 3 simple temp settings and the light bar can be adjusted so you wont have any glare at eye level. Love that it can be discreetly hidden and plugged unlike annoying recharge or bulky box battery ones. 10/10

Two lights used on 4'x5' picture. The choice of spectrum and brightness allows for many modes to the room by changing the appearance of the picture. The ability to control each light separately adds to the ability to vary the off-picture light source. (Sunrise, noon, and sunset). We are surprised at the quality these lights add to the room. Totally satisfied. Greatly increases the value of the picture and room.
