I didn’t read… needed these for an External snap ring. Still, was able to accomplish removal and installation of snap ring. Another reviewer was correct, it can be tricky getting in at the correct angle with these. BUT, I liked the small diameter pins (working on a Kitchen Aid mixer) and the fact these can easily be reposition to 0, 45, 90 degrees to angle of plier body. Only suggestion might be to put a matching color band on tips of same size (3 pairs of tips-hard to tell them apart). All in all, happy to find these and would buy again!

I really liked certain aspects of these snap ring pliers, like the way the tips fit into the pliers and will not rotate.But despite what the advertising says, they do not come with 1mm dia tips. The smallest is 1.5mm dia, and they do not fit the snap rings I bought them to install. I contacted the vendor, and while they were pleasant about it, they could not supply 1mm tips.

Had a number of old Craftsman rachets that need maintenance. All needed snap rings removed to perform the cleaning and lubrication. Snap ring pliers made it very easy to remove and replace snap rings. Multiple positions for inserts and when in place they are firm and steady. Only suggestion I would make is that it seems taper on end of external inserts should be opposite of the internal inserts. Taper should face out for expanding (internal) and face in for compressing (external). Either way, hey still worked very well.

The description does not do them justice. The three different sizes of pins cover my needs nicely. With one, one and a half, and two millimeters pins I have yet to encounter a snap ring that does not fit. What is not illustrated is that there are three positions for the pin positions. Only the strait out position is illustrated. The pins can also be installed at a right angle to the handle, or at a forty five degree angle. This really helps when snap rings are located in hard to reach places. I thought the pins would merely be friction fit in the handle but they are threaded on to the curled knobs for a secure fit. Well done!

Overall, I like these pliers. They come with 3 size tips and can be mounted straight or at 90° or 45°. The only drawback is that the thumbscrews sticking out the sides make it hard to get into small spaces. Otherwise, they are great.
