I think the quality of the paint is just great, it did the job as expected. But the applicator is lame and it drips all over the place.

Using this on my 2021 Tesla Model Y with 20” matte black rims.There wasn’t a whole lot of instructions included in this except on the bottle of paint. I’ve attached everything included in this and on the bottle in the pictures to this review.I want to preface this by saying that as soon as I made the first twist of the cap, I could instantly smell the paint. It smelled like bananas. I was outside in my driveway so I cannot imagine what this would have been like if in an enclosed place like a garage, so do keep that in mind! Probably best to do this outside like I did because I’m sure it’s not safe to inhale this this close for a long period of time. The side of the paint does mention vapor warnings too. Also probably a good idea to take a break frequently and don’t try to do all your rims at once.They mention this as a touch up and that seems to be true. It’s not going to magically fix your damage, but it’ll hide the obvious discolorations due to curb hits which seem more prevalent in a Tesla for some reason.My specific rim has a lot of damage from the previous owner that I knew wasn’t going to be fixed with this, but this would help conceal some of the discolorations and it seems to do so slightly.Up close, it’s obvious this is a different color of paint. It’s much darker than the rim is. But further back is less recognizable.The tube is a brush itself but the kit also included a second brush to help with some areas. I didn’t find a need for it myself, but glad it was included.Overall, you’ll need to go in with the intention that this won’t fix the damage but just hide it and if that is your goal, then I’d recommend this.

First and foremost, SHAKE WELL! This will ensure all the metallic flakes are well mixed into the base. Otherwise, the paint will apply more black than the color of the rims. As long as you do that, it's hard to go wrong. The paint is liquidy, so be careful when removing the brush from the tube, as it's easy to drip. Even with its liquidy consistency, the paint stays in place once applied to the rim and dries relatively quickly. It's essentially creating a paint film that adheres over top, so it will somewhat fill in the groves as well. I've included some before and after pictures. Definitely worth the $13 list price.Oh, and for the sake of saying it, make sure your rims are thoroughly cleaned before applying.

I bought this metallic pen for my 2020 model 3 that is new to me and there was some minor damage to the rims and I wanted to see if this pen would work well. The color matched great but you do have to file down the edge of the rim to make it a smooth surface and then it will look much better especially from a distance, would recommend.
