Had this for awhile. Was great at first, no mold. But over time mold developed all the time. Used filtered water and cleaned very well each time, didn't matter. Bought organic and different types of inorganic grass seeds. Wouldn't recommend this for cat grass

Took longer to sprout than in dirt. Grew okay but watering was difficult as it won't hold a lot of water and it does leak out. Once the grass is done and died off it's difficult to get all the roots out.. You have to rip it into smaller pieces to get it all out. I used it once and then gave it away.

The item descripton made it sound like you were getting a kit but all you are getting is a small plastic tray only ☹
