These are large, make sure you review the size, they worked great for me, I did soak them, then dig a hole where I was using them, they didn’t break and the functionality was impressive! Water retention and appearance are pleasing!

These are beyond great. They do EXACTLY what they are supposed to do. Was a bit concerned about some of the ratings stating these are fragile, but they are not if you follow the instructions. Temps were supposed to be high 90's - 100 and would be gone for a week. Used 3 in a very, very large planter, with 3 full wine sized bottles of water, and when returned home, all 3 bottles were empty, but the plant was happy and did not suffer from any dryness or wilting. They are a bit on the heavy side and larger in size which is to be expected from these, plus adding a wine sized bottle to them, so you would not want to use them in a small potted plant, but for any potted plant on the larger size of medium to large and extra large, these were the answer to the watering issue while away. I have not monitored how long it takes to absorb the water in that particular plant, but it did the trick for a week away and hot temps.

The product is made of terracotta, but too highly priced. The delivery was way beyond the indicated date

I bought these spikes to cover the watering of my plants for a trip, as they are intended. The order arrived quickly, with Prime, and in new condition (no marks on the box, shipping damage, etc. The box was much larger than I expected since I hadn't much thought about the actual size. Each spike is about six inches tall and maybe 2 inches in diameter, and you get six of them in this pack. The mouth of the spike is open for use with a bottle you supply and fill with water. We tested the product before the trip, as the manufacturer recommends, to ensure we could set them up appropriately (and not come home to dead plants). In the end, the watering spikes were a (plant) life saver and, as a result, economical by saving me the trouble of replacing or nursing my plants. We initially used a 1 litter soda / tonic bottle, which 1 litter gave us about 3 days or so of watering; a larger bottle or multiple stakes per plant would be needed for a week-long trip or longer. But, the spike can also fit a wine, or 2-litter, bottle for more capacity and would likely even accommodate a 3 litter soda bottle. During our trip and pre-trip test, the watering spikes were providing water according to the plants needs as the moisture in the soil evaporated; we accommodated for the duration of our trip with the size of the bottle, based on our test, and the spikes worked adequately. When we returned home from our trip, my plants were alive and well!!! I was ecstatic with that, so they certainly worked well enough for me. I cannot compare the watering spikes performance to the drip / siphon or other methods since I've not yet tried them. But, I will use these watering spikes again (likely with a larger bottle, especially if leaving for more than 5 /6 days), and I would recommend them to keep you plants from being thirsty. Enjoy!

After reading a lot of reviews on various water bulbs and water stakes, I thought I'd give these a try. They are not the cheapest, but I'm VERY happy with them, and worth the money. We have an area on the other side of the pool that is really bare, and I've tried various potted plants there to brighten it up, but due to it not being an easy area to access, the plants always die. I use 1 ltr drink bottles with these stakes and my plants are now thriving. Easily recommend them.
