This would be great for small animals, but our guinea pig was too big for it. He knocked it down constantly as there isn't much weight to it, even when it's full.

My new hamster/mouse water bottle is cute, easy to setup and fill, and my teddy bear hamster is able to use this with no issues. It's been a very good water bottle solution for inside my hamsters habitat and playpen, and i recommend it

The height is good for small hamsters, I got this for my dwarf rat. Note, if you have just gotten your critter, young babies sometimes don’t have enough strength to push in the balls to drink, so make sure they get a very shallow saucer as well until you see that they can use it. It’s low enough that I’ve had to put it on top of a can to raise the height. It doesn’t have anything in the bottle as a floater, so you need to be sure to note the water level. So far it doesn’t seem to leak, and the base is wide enough I can’t see it tipping. I wish the bottle were glass, but if changing every day it should be fine. It is neat that it doubles as a water stand and a bit of a hidey hole.

We just got our kids their first hamsters and I wanted something very simple for them to be able to fill and change the water themselves. It's very easy to clean as well and we have been changing the water daily so the process is easy. The hamster seems to be drinking just fine from the bottle and can reach it. It doesn't leak or dribble. My daughter loves that the bottle is light pink.A perfect accessory for a hamster!
