This switch seems okay, but I purchased a replacement control for my Mercury engine. The switch in the replacement control broke and I assumed this switch for a "Mercury" control would fit. It did not. The image imprint on my broken switch does not match this switch with UP - DOWN. The switch that does fit my "Mercury" control has a picture with arrows and is being sold for a "Suzuki" control box. The switch is pressed in and snaps into the control from the front rather than being inserted from the rear, which is why this "Mercury" switch did not work on my control.

I wanted to add a trim switch to the control handle for my 1996 Mercury Mariner 50hp outboard, and ended up getting this. It works perfectly with the standard quicksilver controls, and was very straightforward to install and wire up!
