I've used varieties of whet stones and have at least a half dozen. Something that I've always struggled with was securing the stone on a counter or table top. I've always used a wet washcloth. Yeah, it kind of worked, but I never really knew about these kinds of stone holders until watching some sharpening videos.This unit is very quickly adustable to practically any size that most of us will ever run into. It firmly grasps the stone. I have one stone that I was concerned might not work, since it's a relatively thin double sided diamond stone--about 1/4" thick. The holder still holds this stone properly without getting in the way of the blade during sharpening.If you use stones and haven't found a good holding system, this unit won't break the bank and you'll wonder how you ever went without it. Good construction, quality material, and non-slip.

La necesitaba para sujetar una piedra japonesa al agua grano 1000/6000 que tengo. Te cambia la manera de afilar pues da buen apoyo, firmeza y tienen muy buena sujeción. Se puede oxidar un poco la rosca, pues uso la piedra húmeda, sin llegar a ser un problema. Muy satisfecho.

I cannot say anything bad about this stone clamp. Most clamps are pretty basic, but you can still get a bad product.This clamp had served me well for a while now and the dual rod system is much better than a single. If your stone is slightly askew you can get a much better grab this way. It works for all my stones, but if you have small stones it might not work for you. Definitely would buy again if needed, but I don't think I will need to.

Well built, exactly what you want for holding your expensive Whetstones. Smooth machining of the rods and nuts, quality rubber (no odor) of the 3 base components. If you need a stone holder, look no further.
