My husband fell and hit his head on the curling rink just a few weeks after we got these. He had a small bump and abrasion on the back of his head above the band and a mild headache for a few days. But there were no signs of concussion. I'd say it definitely prevented a much more serious injury. 2 thumbs up!

It is paper thin. Not what I would call protective head wear. Especially for on the ice. I would not recommend this product. Our went directly in the garbage.

I have an average sized head and bald at that and the Ultra Black leaves a couple of inches of my head potentially vulnerable. The company sacrificed better fit for business reasons.

Seems like a good safety item. The youth headband that I ordered fits quite small. My kids are 11 and 7 and the bands almost at the end of the velcro. Other than that they fit well and don't fall off.
