There was debris encrusted in the molten glass....they have a quality control issue.....meanwhile i had to deal with some Amazon runaround for the return and refund

I purchased this beaker to make a circulating water bath with a stirrer / hotplate unit that I already had. It works great for this purpose! The graduations are slightly incorrect but within advertised tolerances.Borosilicate is tough stuff thermally, but be aware that this beaker is rated for 160 Celsius, that's 320 Fahrenheit, of thermal shock at most. Don't expect to hit a cold beaker with a propane torch and have it survive intact!

Used for brewing ice tea that is then transferred to a 2000 ml borosilicate glass oitcher. Beaker pours well without mess and tea cools quickly

Item was packaged very well and quality is great. Lesser brands tend to shatter with rapid temperature changes

Big. Really big. Great if you have to rapidly change the temperature of a liquid by immersing it in hot/cold water.Product exceeds expectations, should be a 6 star option here.

When you buy lab glassware and you want to use it more than a couple of times or for heating and/or cooling of solutions, make sure you buy a reputable brand. I have tried several off-brands and could not even determine if they were borosilicate or something else. They all cracked, shattered, or were chipped in very short time, some one the first use. This pyrex has been great and the price is excellent.

I've now purchased two of these and both are broken. I placed them on a lab grade corning hotplate and slowly increased the temperature. Before reaching 100C they broke. Do not plan to even gently heat anything in these things. And definitely forget any shock loads or large temp changes.... wasted money
