Tiling a basement bathroom, and bought this to clean up tile edges. My tile is black gloss porcelain, so it shows everything. This helps, but if you want truly clean edges I think you gotta go with diamond polishing pads on an angle grinder. If I had to do it over again that's what I'd do. This is a good price and does reduce chips from cuts, but you'll still know it's a cut edge. However, it is fast and convenient

I'm very pleased with this item. Doing a shower tile project for the first time, and even though I'm using a wet tile saw which produces a decent cut, I want a super smooth finished edge on the cut side. This rubbing stone smooths the cut side and gives it a nearly factory edge. You have to look closely to see the difference. If you have a tiny chip in your tile corner, it saves you from having to toss it. Whether it works as well for tiles other than ceramic, I can't say, but seems like it would certainly work for porcelain. It's heavier than expected but easy to handle. Can't speak to the durability because I haven't used it long enough to tell, but if it lasts for this job (and I'm pretty sure it will), then it will be well worth the money spent.
