Ok so this keyboard isn't as high end as more expensive gaming boards, and you can tell that based on the relatively light "heft" to it. But it does have a nice Feel to it, with crisp key clicks while typing. It's not silent, but not obnoxious, either. The lighting could be more subdued but I only really notice it when the room is dark. And you really do use that little know for the volume control, it's definitely appreciated. Overall a good keyboard as a value, entry level option in the mechnical keyboard category.

When my previous keyboard I was using for my home-office computer ceased working, my young adult son encouraged me to try this Redragon K718 Wired Gaming Keyboard and I'm so glad I did. This model comes with red linear mechanical switches. My previous keyboard had brown switches and I've transitioned to these red switches just fine. In fact, I like them better. They deliver a soft, crisp typing sound with no stick noise and they are quite comfortable to my fast 90 word per minute typing speed. But my very favorite feature of this keyboard is the One-Knob Volume Control. This feels like a luxury item for lack of a better analogy. I'm not always fantastic with technology. I'm the person that struggles at almost every Microsoft Teams and Zoom meeting to set my volume (and sometimes video) settings. Especially if I'm toggling between my Bluetooth headset and computer speakers, or if I'm disconnecting from home internet to the work office and then changing WIFI and speakers when traveling. My colleagues always seem to manage this smoothly. Me? I'm a mess and constantly clicking all around my screens, searching for tool bars to find my volume controls and always missing the first few moments of my meetings because my audio isn't connected. Now enter this Redragon K718 Keyboard, and let me introduce you to the ONE-KNOB CONTROL!!GAME. CHANGER. This keyboard actually has a very noticeable round knob wheel on the top right of the keyboard above the number pad. All you need to do it just turn it on the keyboard, and your volume control setting box just miraculously pops up on your screen to view. That's it! One turn of the wheel and you're already adjusting your volume and you can see the volume bars on your screen as you turn the wheel to adjust. No more typing into search boxes bars to find volume settings or using my mouse to click endlessly around screen and after screen with various system, device, Bluetooth and speaker settings. All I do now is just turn the wheel on this keyboard and my volume is immediately adjusting. That's it. the Redragon knows exactly what to do from there. WOW!The Redragon K718 keyboard also has adjustable rainbow backlighting. I don't love bright backlighting, so I do like that it's adjustable. There are 20 presets and you can adjust the brightness and the flowing speed. There is also a music sync mode which isn't really my thing, but is definitely an awesome feature if it's your thing - the keys can light up and create a show to music creating an immersed experience.Redragon offers pro software to design your own modes and effects through macros with different keybindings and shortcuts for more efficient work and gaming available on redragonshop. While I haven't yet ventured this far into the usability, I'm impressed that it's offered and it's on my list to explore in the near future. I'm sure this could be a powerful tool for gamers. For myself, I do have some repetition that I type for my work projects across various Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Word, so I'm curious to see if some keyboard macros can be established for my personal office use.I'm not using this keyboard to game obviously, but I'm super pleased with it's crossover ability to assist in my work-life. It's performing a million times better than I had hoped for. My expectations were pretty low actually, I just wanted a keyboard to type. This is one of those big surprise moments in life. I ordered it because my previous keyboard broke, I needed a new one quickly, and my son recommended I give this a try. As it turns out, not only am I in love with this keyboard, but now I can't see myself using a different one! I had never even heard of the volume wheel before. I want one for my work-office desk now too! Great job Redragon!

This is a great keyboard and easy to type on - I'm a bit old school and like purely mechanical keyboards like this. This has a volume knob/dial that is easy to use quickly and accurately and you can fully mute everything simply by pressing down on it. This is super handy not just for gaming but for office work too with all of the online meetings I need to do at home. The build quality is solid and the keyboard has some heft to it so it won't move around easily. The keys feel great and have good carry and return. It looks fantastic, very retro and well lit if you need keyboard lights in the dark (I don't) but that's adjustable. The LED effects are ridiculously annoying, but what saves me from knocking off stars is that you can turn it off completely!Overall fantastic keyboard at a great price.
