The Renogy BT-2 is a new generation of Bluetooth module for Renogy MPPT elite charge controllers, Renogy smart lithium batteries with RJ45 communication port, and Renogy inverter chargers with RJ45 communication port, Renogy DC-DC 30A/50A MPPT Battery Charger. Powered by its RJ45 communication port, the BT-2 provides wireless monitoring of the system data and allows users to change parameters through the Renogy DC Home App.

Works well, good range to the phone. Had difficulty with downloading the app but got it to go. Still cannot get the warranty to register though.

The app is straight forward, shows what’s happening. Comparable to the Victron system which I use for my Solar. Using Renogy for Inverter Charger on a houseboat.

How to get the BT 2 as I upgrade it my charge controller to a DC to DC charger. The BT 1 showed me the percentage of my battery which I wish this one showed as well. That is the main reason why I purchased this one

I made sure to order the correct connection for my battery, ( there are 2 styles) . Plugged it in to the port on my Lithium iron battery , downloaded the app and it connected right away. Shows me everything I need to know about the battery. I can also plug it in to the charge controller to get all of the information.

It monitored but never controlled. After an Android app update release and install BT no longer connected to it. It became completely useless. Returning it. In my past experience with Renogy support: It's hard to trust them. It seems they use every stalling technique available to them resulting in mostly nothing but run-around.

Liked that it shipped out quickly and it was well packed. It has a nice long cable which would be good for mounting closer to where you would want to access it. It looks good and is pretty small. The RJ45 plug to plug it in to the Renogy battery (mine is lithium) makes it for a nice easy installation. There is also a good video on YouTube showing the install process. It should be easy but I was unable to get the software working. I saw some reports that Apple Iphone users may have a better experience.I bought mine as a refurbished unit and so I was only a little disappointed that the mounting screw slots were damaged on one side. This shouldn't impact performance.I'm going with one star because I followed the instructions, installed the Renogy DC Home app on my phone and could not get the app to connect to the BT-2 module. I have a Samsung S10 phone. The software comes up fine but it prompted to create an account. When I did this, it came up with an "Parsing Error". I tried uninstalling an reinstalling the app. I tried connecting to the device just through the phone's BT pairing mode but it came up with an error saying an App was required. I tried getting support on the Renogy website but there was no response on their chat, nor is there a response after a few days to the ticket I submitted.I will update if they come back to me before I return it.
