Best 55$ CDN I’ve spent for a radio. Was 1000’ up the side of a mountain on the west coast in powell river BC. I DID A ‘radio test’ on 146.460 and was shocked to get a clear reply from Campbell river BC! About 50-60km away. A fella was just finished up loading his sled onto his truck after a day of sledding. I and he, we’re amazed!

This radio has been impressive to use, even more after the firmware update is done.I can listen to the local airport activity, pick up FM radio, NOAA, it is useful for absolutely everyone.You get quite a lot of radio for the price.Unfortunately I need a replacement.I left my RA79 on the roof of my car and drove off the other day so I'll be buying another one soon!

I bought this HAM radio on a whim. I didn't really know what I was buying nor expected much when I got it. Turns out it's really good for the little money that it costs. It works great. And, we can unlock a lot of frequencies. I'm just saying. It's really great if you know what I mean. I have a more much expensive radio that has become a disappointment now.
