We have used these only once. The batteries died within the same day. We recharged them over night, and they kept their charge only a couple of hours. We put brand new batteries in, tried it, it worked, so we put the talkies away, and when we needed them a couple of weeks later, they were totally dead again, which means we just wasted 6 brand new batteries. So, I will be writing to customer service because I'm past the deadline for returning. I'll see if they can help, because between the cost of these, plus the cost of batteries, I'm not very pleased with the outcome. I'll see if customer service can turn it around.

Great purchase. Works great, holds a decent charge, not cheaply made.

I bought these for a trip to Iceland and they worked very well. What I like most is that they can be charged with the included USB split power cable, which can charge both walkie talkies at once, so you don't have to carry around clumsy power bricks. All you need to do is plug the cable into a phone charger and you can keep the batteries topped up.There are tons of features that I didn't get to use, like hands-free use. Support for headsets is a nice feature that I plan to try later. My only complaint is that the flashlight button on the side is way too easy to press. The slightest touch activates the flashlight. I often found that the flashlight was on because something had brushed against the button while the walkie talkie was in my bag, or if it touched something accidentally. I would worry this could kill your battery and the walkie talkie would not be available when you really need it. I'd like to see the flashlight button designed to require a harder press to turn on.

These were purchased as a gift and within a few short months they stopped working. For the price, this should not happen.*update* Seller was in touch with us and sent us another set of these within days. The set that we have now works and I'll update here again in a few months. The first difference that was noticed is that the body of the set we just received does not get exceptionally hot when in use or while charging. I believe the originals were defective from the outset as this other pair does not do this. These work well - the range is under 1km. This isn't really a scientific measure - neighbor's kid had one and our kid had the other when we were leaving home to head out on a trip and about 800m away they lost contact. I'm not sure if anything else impacts this though.

Purchased these for easy communication between myself and my daughter while camping and at our trailer park for the summer when she goes on her bike rides with her friends. The range works perfectly for what we need it for (I haven't had any issues with sound clarity or quality or interference). It has a lot of good features, yet its still simple enough to use. LOVE that it's rechargeable too - great bang for your buck!NOTE: We tested the range when taking one unit out onto the boat, it worked perfectly about 2km away, we will continue to test the distance this summer!

++ Solid built; does not feel like a toy.++ Lock function is really handy.++ Clear reception at 0.5km with both transceivers out on the street (no line of sight).--- Zero connection at >= 0.2km with one transceiver in the house and the other one on the street.I'm not taking any * away for the con listed above because this is my first walkie talkie (bought it for my 3 year old) and I have nothing to compare it to. I will update my rating when I have more time to play with it.
