These are made out of heavier gauge AL than the versions available locally. Plus they have a larger contact area for the pivot, so they should last longer. And I can get two full sets so I now have a spare. Cost for two sets was only 20% more than that of a single set of the inferior versions sold locally. And I didn't have to get in a car and drive 15 minutes each way.

When I first saw this product I was quite skeptical. However after installing two of these and the ease of installation, my mind was changed, when I tested the install, using a garden hose I was again impressed.in the kit there are "latches" the store the down spout in the up position, they would be great if the down spout was less than 5 feet in length. My installation required the drain portion to be at least 8 feet long to get the water away from the house. I would recommend these "interesting" little hinges.

I like these, they fit on easily and don't need cut to fit like most extensions. But they do still need fastened on with screws to stay in place well. Over-all I would consider them more temporary than the ones that are cut and fastened on.
