The durable 18mm chrome hardened piston rod and large-bodied cylinder dwarfs factory equipment, ensuring a more effective vibration damping each and every time you take to the trails. Rough Country's N3 Steering Stabilizer kit is easy to install, with a 100% bolt-on installation process that can be installed in a home garage with common tools.

Nice looking steering damper, all parts were there and seemed like a easy install. Like some others said in the reveiws the 2 U-bolts that are suppose to clamp onto the centre link are to short. Well, at least 1 of them should be 1/2" longer. Because if you go by the instructions of 3 1/2" rod extended outward, which is roughly half the steering damper full extended length, it lines up with the flared part of the centrelink where the drag link bolts onto. This is where the problems begin, the supplied U bolts or at least 1 U bolt should be 1/2" longer to 2 1/2". I went to Canadian tire and found they had a stainless 2 1/2" U bolt. But the bolt thickness is only half the thickness on the supplied U-bolts and it bends quite easily ( Not a good thing). Only a temporary fix for now, till I have more time to make 1 out of some mild steel rod. Note: I did see a YT video where the guy only extended it roughly 3" and it will bolt on but I will check into that to see if I will worsen the turning radius. All in all, the steering feels way better now than without a damper and can't believe GM didn't have 1 included as a factory part. All my steering components were replaced a few months ago including hub bearings and it still didn't feel right until I did this damper install. A must for any 4X4.
