This ligature features a metal cradle which can be altered to create SIX different tones, as shown on the linked page. The ligature is not designed to be inverted. In all positions, the cradle is designed to sit on the reed, and the screw will tighten against the mouthpiece. The versatility of this ligature provides the performer with complete tonal control and accurate intonation throughout all registers. Rover ligatures hold the reed to the mouthpiece with no pressure points. Because there are no pressure points or rigid constraints on the reed, the reed seats evenly to the facing of the mouthpiece reducing stuffiness and improving tonal clarity. I have tried several different ligatures over the years and this is absolutely the best I have used. It is easy to get the reed just right, very quietly, and it plays freely.

Used on Bb clarinet. The reed feels a bit more free blowing and less rigid compared to the standard metal one. Not sure what else to say other than I like the tone this produces. I personally use this with a Vandoren B40 mouthpiece. Would recommend you try this out and see if you like the sound it produces. I do kind of regret buying this off Amazon as I know that music stores are finding it increasingly hard to make ends meet.

These are the best ligatures - used to be named Eddie Daniels - now the Rovner -V-1R. I use these on all my mouthpieces - clarinets and saxophones. I've also purchased for my daughter's and wife's clarinets!Great!!!

Good ligature, a bit bulky. An improvement over the original Dark ligature. I'm not sure it's as good as, or better than the Bonade ligature or Vandoren Optimum.
