This mat provides excellent traction and serves as a protective floor covering by safeguarding its subsurface. Carpet, wood, laminate, or tile flooring are well protected from foot-traffic, wet, or otherwise soiled conditions. These non-skid mats are designed with "Fine Rib's" to scrape debris and moisture away to provide a safer path to walk on. The ribbed matting is also very resilient, allowing it to stand up to heavy foot traffic while still maintaining its dirt and moisture trapping qualities. This protective floor covering is a great application for walkways in commercial and industrial settings where overwhelming moist conditions may be present. It can also be used as mats for garage, flooring for basement, or in workshops. As industrial matting, the fabric-based finish adds subsurface traction allowing it to remain secured to the floor while enduring foot traffic. Installation of the runner mats can be either permanent or temporary by using a double-sided carpet tape. They work especially well in transient locations as no slip mats since they are lightweight and therefore easily storable for frequent use. The mobility of this ribbed matting does not compromise its capability, and since these runner mats are made from synthetic rubber, they are completely water resistant floors. The material also offers moderate chemical resistance and can be cleaned with most common household cleaners, though are not recommended that highly caustic cleaning solutions such as bleach. Since the corrugations run lengthwise along these non-skid mats, foot traffic is inherently directed while maintaining a level of safety that can't easily be matched by other runner products. This mat is durable, has deep groves on the ridged side. Rolls up nicely.Must be honest though, I got this to create a table top gaming mat. I put an acrylic silicone caulking on the flat side to add texture and painted it up to look like ground. It rolls and unrolls very easily and looks great, it’s heavy so it doesn’t shift when playing. And it’s durable enough to withstand all kinds of wear and tear.No idea how good of a floor mat it is, but it makes a great gaming mat!

This matting is high quality material. A supple rubber that lays flat, not like stiff cheap vinyl.In some cases a larger size piece is actually priced cheaper than a smaller size, so check the pricing on all sizes before ordering what you need.

We've only had this mat for a couple months. Unwrapping it, the initial smell was fierce, a super-chemical off-gas. After two months outdoors in sun and rain, the smell appears to have gone. It remains to be seen if there is more off-gassing when summer rolls around and we have more sun. But it's a very useful non-slip surface, easy to work with. I noticed the winds kind of blew it around a bit, so ended up using small nails to hold it to our wooden steps (nails around the edges, about 6 inches apart). I think this will also keep someone from accidentally catching the mat on the edge of a shoe and lifting it, or tripping. It's easy to clean with a hose. I've ordered a couple more for separate wooden steps. I'll update this review after summer, and again after a year or so, with a report on durability.
