This is very useful not expensive and easy to use. I don't drive my truck much.then one winter day I went to use it and it would not start. So I bought the Schumacher 800mah Battery maintainer sc1299. Hooked it up to my battery left it alone for a day. Went out and turned the key and it started. So I highly recommend this battery maintainer. It payed for itself using it one time.

Not sure what all the negative comments about cord length are. Maybe an older version? I got the SC1299 august 2024 and the cord is stupidly long. It’s 11ft. More than enough.I have used battery tender brand, NAPA and Nocos. Battery tenders are great, but ridiculous expensive IMO. NAPAs are good but my experience is only with larger chargers and not maintainers. Nocos are nice but kind of pricey. Enter this. It’s easier to use than anything else I have used as you just hook it up and walk away. No setting battery type, amps, etc. It does all the work. A simple LED light to tell you what is going on. If you are familiar with the Noco 1 it’s much bigger than that but you don’t have to set anything.CONS? When it is in float mode the LED light is off. So how do you know it’s plugged in and working? You don’t. So if you need a status LED like 99% of chargers and maintainers have? Look elsewhere.

Use this for our generator starting battery. Ordered a cheaper style from an off shore manufacturer that did not work. This one does.. It keeps battery at peak, if hydro goes off this resumes when it comes back and when generator is running and charging the battery this thing just goes offline and once the generator is shut back down, this resumes its task.Literally a connect it and forget it which is what we need, generator is some distance from house and I know it's ready to fire up whenever needed

I live in three places (China, Vancouver and Calgary) with vehicles at all three homes. This means that vehicles will sit idle, possibly for months at a time. That is very bad for your batteries. These trickle charges keep your car ready to start with the battery always topped up. It also prolongs the life of the battery. They are relatively easy to install. Even if you are going on vacation for a few weeks it is wise to use one of these puppies. When you sell your car simply remove it and reinstall in your new vehicle. I have never had to drill any holes though it is possible you might. I have always found something (usually the battery itself) to tuck the L bracket under after which the charger isn't going anywhere.

We own 2 of these chargers/maintainers, one for each vehicle. Does what it is suppose to do, slowly charge our Kia Optima and Nissan batteries overnight and maintain them charged to optimum power level during very cold spells, ensures quick easy starts in the morning. Slowly charging a battery is far better than a quick charge when the battery has already died. Takes very little room under the hood, can easily be installed close to the battery, just need to connect the positive and negative charger leads to a bolt on their respective battery post clamps. The 120 volt power supply wire is very short so made up a custom extension cord that connects to the charger and exists under the fronts of the hoods, very easy to plug it in and supply the power to the charger, no opening the hood even required. It is fully automatic therefore it will never overcharge the battery, once installed nothing to ever worry about, the 1.5 amps is just a perfect capacity for slow charges with no risk of any damage if correctly connected..

This is such an important part of my winter car care. I hooked it up in under 15 minutes and it works great. The battery is fully charged when I don't drive the car very much and because it is so small and easy to tuck under the hood, it is not in the way. I thought the cord it comes with might be too short but not the case for my Mazda 6 as it reaches and I hang about 6" out of the hood and plug it into an extension into the outlet. When you consider the cost of a good battery over $100 this is a very economical way to charge the battery without the nuisance of removing it from the car and plugging in a trickle charger. Because it is on board there is nothing to do but plug it into the outlet. I really recommend it and the quality and reviews all confirm what I am finding after three months of use.

This is a great onboard maintenance charger. My parents don't drive their truck very often in the winter, using it primarily to haul their holiday trailer around, and every few months we would have to charge the battery, and replace it every couple of years due to low voltage damage. Having this little guy under the hood is super helpful. When they park the truck, just plug it in like a block heater cord, and they're good to go next time. I do wish it was slightly higher current, but it's good enough.

This automatic car battery trickle charger/maintainer works very well. After it is hooked up, you can leave it with confidence that it will keep your battery in good health. Also, the right angle bracket it comes with (that installs under the battery) is an incredibly simple and convenient way to quickly install the trickle charger/maintainer. I highly recommend this product!
