Looks great and priced reasonably! Good for flattening stones and create a new new edge. The plates are removable for washing/cleaning. However, the magnets that hold them are not not glued. Otherwise, it’s easy to maintain. It’s marked “DMD Tools”

Flattening ceramic waterstones is what I got this for. I also plan to use it on regular waterstones. Works well so far.

It’s cheap and feels a bit cheap when you get it but it works. I have flattened 3 stones with good results so far. During the first stone one of the plates told some damage and lost a bit of diamond stone, still works fine. For $20 and for what it is being used for it’s great just not sure how long it will last.

Hefty 10" diamond plates stuck to a plastic form with magnets. The first time I took the plates off the form all 6 magnets came out attached to the back of one of the plates. A drop of super glue and replaced the magnets. Easy fix...I put these plates on a stone holder and flattened every stone I had. Lots of water and back and forth with a rotation of the stones every 10 passes. The plates flatten ceramic, silicone carbide, and natural stones (Japanese, Chinese, Arkansas and Vermont slate).Ran the stones over 120, and then 180... All stones were flat using straight edges. No light between straight edge and stone. I used other finer diamond plates ( much more expensive) to finish finer grit stones. These plates worked really well for rough flattening! And for 20 bucks, I'm not afraid to be rough with them. I rejuvenated several old oil stones with noticable dishing to flat and ready to work again. It would have cost me hundreds to replace my old dished stones...Cleanup was simple. You can use a small screwdriver, tip of a knife, or anything to get into the slots to pop off the plates from the form. Wipe any excess water off the plates and form and let dry before reassembling.I'm very happy with these plates. They do show some wear after I flattened 10 stones on both sides, but I honestly abused them pretty hard with those old oil stones. And they still have plenty of grit left and I'll use them for years to come.So if you have beat up old sharpening stones, these plates will bring them back to perfectly flat working condition again with a little elbow grease and water. Well worth 20 bucksUpdate:I really abused these plates... I flattened water stones super easy and the first couple oil stones I flattened had been soaked in degreaser for a couple days before I flattened them.......I started flattening oil stones without degreasing........They worked fine for a minute then clogged up with grease and oil... Black streaks throughout and just caked on there... Absolute mess!I sprayed a little WD and scrubbed them with Scotch Brite and the greasy build up came right off. I dried them and then scrubbed them with a little alcohol and they are clean and ready to work again. I'm pretty impressed with these diamond plates

I bought this to use for flattening my water stones that I use for sharpening wood working tools and knives. It works like a treat but due to the plastic core between the two diamond plates being a little more flexible than I thought it might be I do have to use it with a little extra care. This won't be an issue for anyone using it as a bench plate since the bench will support the diamond plates and core just fine. But if you're like me and want to use it for flattening water stones be aware and plan on using a flat top pressure caul of some sort or some care in how you apply the pressure so it doesn't flex badly. All in all despite this quirk to my use I do feel that this is a good value for the price. The diamond surfaces are standing up very well despite a fair amount of use already. Not at all like some cheaper diamond plates that seem to release the diamond grit far too easily.

Do not buy this to flatten your whetstones, it will leave scratches all over the stone, even at 180 grit.I found that using this product to flatten my actual silicon carbide flattening stone (usually comes with whetstone bundle) was the absolute best use for this cheap and poor quality product. However, I was so happy to finally be able to flatten my silicon carbide flattening stone, that I would actually recommend this product for this specific purpose. I spent, literally, DAYS trying to flatten my silicon carbide flattening stone using sandpaper. With this product, I was able to flatten it in MINUETS. Mind you, it didn't make it perfectly level, but very acceptable. The Pros:1. Very inexpensive compared to other diamond flattening plates.2. Worked well to flatten silicon carbide stone. The Cons:1. It's not perfectly flat.2. The synthetic diamonds aren't adhered onto the plate perfectly. There are obvious darker ares compared to the glittery shine of the better areas. It also has a small "smudge" on one plate, resulting in a uneveness and missing abrasive.3. Both plates arrived RUSTED. Fronts of both plates contain less rust then the backs. One plate is rusted more on the back4. Both plates have patches of tiny bumps on the backs (sorry, couldn't think of the correct word)These are all I can think off of the top of my head.

I'm actually pretty impressed. This diamond stone works really good for truing up other stones. India stones, Arkansas stones and Ruby stones have been no problem for it. It cuts very well. You are supposed so apply very little pressure, just enough so that it kept in constant contact with the surface, plus a small amount of pressure. Its very easy to clean since the two diamond plated steels can be removed to be washed.I had my doubts about it's flatness but it is surprisingly flat. All stones I flattened, when placed on a ruler, lined up perfect. For the price i would say it is a heck of a good deal unless you want to go into the more expensive diamonds flattening stones. It hasn't worn in any way yet and so far I've used it maybe 8 or 9 times on each side.I'll probably purchase a second one, I'm really happy for the price paid.

Prompt delivery. Quality product. It worked very well to flatten and clean my stones.Be careful going from oil stones to water, and vise-versa. The oil slough got gummed up and into my water stones. I ended up cleaning the lapping hone with acetone. This might loosen the diamond grit? I believe they are soldered or heat connected in some proprietary manner but in other words, I just do not know. Proceed with caution.

Not flat bends and flexes far to much to even be considered for a lapping stone. This product is cheap and poorly made
