I’ve been using this for the past couple weeks to get some seeds started for my garden. The install was very easy and it fits perfectly on my counter. I already have my tomato plants sprouting so it has done the job. I give this 5 stars for price, practicality and quality

This kit is pretty much as pictured, with two large trays meant for the initial growth for most seeds. Drainage is fine, the vents on the top are simple plastic discs that just twist, and the recesses molded into the lid fit the lights. While the cord is reasonably long you will have to keep the trays close together as they all spider out of the same USB cable. The photos show a little USB adapter although there was no one in the box. Most USB-A adapters should work for it, as on full brightness (and both types of LEDs on) it pulls a hair over 14 watts. The light controller has a handy built-in timer, though like many of these if you power off the USB and back on again the lights will not turn on automatically. IE, you can't automate a full cycle with a smart plug. Having said that, you'll probably want to keep an eye on these every day anyway to see how they're growing.

This is a great way to get a good Headstart on the growing season. Two trays with covers and lighting to get 80 plants germinating that you will then be able to transplant into the garden. This thing could give you an easy month Headstart on the season, which will let that plant yield more fruit or veggies for you during the growing season. The quality of the pieces is pretty good, and I like the fact, they are fully enclosed and covered as my cats can’t get at them that way.

In this seed starter tray, I have planted seeds for cosmos flowers and basil, and transplanted some straggling begonia seedlings to try and spur more growth. In 4 days, I am seeing good germination among the seeds and some continued growth among the begonias. I'm pleased! This is going to get a lot of use. Here are some things I like about it:* compact: very little shelf space is required, especially because you can stack the two boxes on two of each other. And if you aren't using them, you can stack all pieces in even less space.* clear plastic cell tray gives great visual on root growth and water content. Also, they are deep, helping to train better root systems.* grow lights - these seem to be working well and encouraging good growth. I have just kept them on the full spectrum.* tray for bottom watering and keeping a clean shelf* vents are easy to control - simple design that does the trickThe biggest potential limitation I can identify is that each tray has 40 cells (80 cells total), and the lights are controlled by the same switch. Depending on the scale of your gardening needs, it may be too much. For me, I'm growing flowers for the garden, so glad for something so space efficient to get seeds started.

The Seed Starter Tray with Timed Grow Light by Nestun is a great little greenhouse for germinating seeds. They have a nice design that I like. The plastic trays are firm and sturdy enough that don't crack or bend if you need to lift and move from one place to another. The top tray fits on top nicely and can be removed easily just by lifting up from pinching the middle. The trays' vents work fine. The lights fit perfectly and the lights have integrated timers - 4 h, 6h, 12 h and 16 hour. The 40 cells in both trays provide good root growth and the greenhouse dome is nice and tall. This kit is wonderful. At the time of this review, theses were selling at $46 CAD which is a good value for the quality. 👍

I was surprised when putting this kit together that I need to buy an additional adapter. The pictures imply that an adapter is included but that's not the case. I had to use my phone's charger to use the lights. The connector is USB-A not USB-C as advertised. The lights are a bit disappointing, apart from the fact they're limited by USB-A. They are not bright enough in my opinion, and they are much shorter than the molded slot in the dome. Perhaps a different set of lights that spanned the entire dome were used prior? This old style of USB simply doesn't provide enough power and is spread across all 4 lamps. There is no way to use just 2 lamps, you get all or none. One row of cells at either end doesn't get enough light because of the short lamps.Apart from the disappointing light situation, the rest of the kit is fine. The clear cells are sturdy enough. The dome is high enough and not sloped like some domes which interfere with seedlings growing at the fringe cells. There are 2 vents per dome which you have to install yourself but which work fine. The kit would benefit from more powerful lights, and the ability to use just 2 of them instead of all 4 always. A safe power adapter should also be included so you don't need to hunt for one or buy one separately.
