When the knob is turned to "disconnect", any movement of the heavy cables will cause random, dangerous, and unwanted reconnections. The original design of this type of disconnect switch made it impossible for this to happen. See the second picture, I have used this type in the past and it is very stable even with heavy cables that want to twist the switch. Also the end of this device that connects to your battery is too thick to reuse the battery post bolt. Not a big deal, just get a 3/8-18 3/4" long bolt. The other end is metric and wont fit your battery. I returned these as unsafe and totally unacceptable design.

I purchased these for a car with an intermittent vampire drain on the battery. It would always disappear whenever I started pulling fuses and metering things. Instead I just got a battery switch. These were very easy to install since they use the factory post terminals. You may need to bend your factory wire a little bit since the post will now be horizontal instead of vertical, but mine was a breeze to do.I first tried a knife style battery switch, but it didn't last long and the connection was getting loose. I have a stereo in my car that can draw upwards of 100amps at once, and I was getting a heck of a voltage drop over the knife switch. No such problem with these screw terminals. They make a really nice tight connection and I don't see any additional voltage drop through them. They also won't wear as quickly because they don't rely on spring action like the knife switches.Had them for about 4 months now with no issues. Will update the review if I find any in future.

These conector switches are way too small, about half the size what the should be. Won't fit a standard American made battery, not at all. As an ASE tech these are worthless and the knob does not appear to function as described.I would not ever recomend these. They are going back to Amazon asap.

Maybe these things will work for a lawn mower or golf cart. But these things simply will not work for a modern automobile. I tried these on a 2019 Jeep Wrangler, a 2009 Ford Mustang, and a 1990 Jeep Wrangler with no success. Automobile battery posts are just too big to fit in these. When I tried to force one down on a battery I was about to replace, this thing just split into pieces. Save your money and look elsewhere.

These terminals are for some kind of small motorcycle battery, not a standard top post battery terminal for a car. I have no idea how these have such high ratings cuz the ones I got wouldn't fit anytihng except a small ATV battery or motorcycle or lawn mower or something.

So it showed in ad on Amazon that you turn the dial and it disconnects the power. Well it does but then you have 2 pieces and a bolt that has to screw in and out every time. And it is brass so the treads will spaul and jam. I thought this was a switch disconnect. Disappointing. All ready setup the return and ordered different style
