Well made birdhouse, good solid materials and the boards are thick. The birdhouse was as shown in the photo. Wood color was nice, with some natural variation which adds to the look. All holes are pre-drilled and assembly was simple. This would be a fun project to do with a child, as all you have to do is screw the boards together. They even include a small screwdriver. Since it's cedar, no need for paint. Assembly took about 5 minutes, if even that. Note that it does not have the traditional perch, however current wisdom says they're not needed and they can be used by predators so it's best to not have one.

Very easy to assemble - all screw holes lined up between pieces. A phillips screwdriver with a longer stem than that provided would be helpful. Mounted it on a pole and had a local pair of bluebirds examining it in a half hour. Male seems to be hanging around it claiming it for a nesting territory.

This bluebird box is one of the best items I have ever bought in my 76 years. I ordered it on Wednesday, was delivered on Thursday, assembled and installed it on the same day and on Friday morning Mr. and Mrs. Bluebird moved in. They have spent the whole day transporting nesting materials into this fantastic home made out of cedar. Very easy to assemble - a phillips screw driver with screws is provided which is allyou need. All screw holes have been pre drilled and everything fits perfectly. The latch is already attached and works like a charm. Whoever makes these bluebird boxes has to be a master craftsman!!

A great product! It is a very well done kit, with all holes pre-drilled, all screws provided, even a screwdriver supplied. Fun to assemble! Easy to attach to any wood surface -a tree in my case— with the holes and screws provided.

A squirrel proof bird house. The birds raised a family without harassment from the squirrel. Their previous bird house was invaded by a red squirrel and it killed their newly hatched young. They so distraught it was heartbreaking.
