We bought this puzzle for our 3 year old. He was able to figure it out very quickly and enjoys playing with the animals after he has put them all together. The images are realistic and the size is great for a toddler mind!

These were a bit smaller then I expected but my toddler loves them nonetheless! I like how you can work your way up from three peice puzzles to five pieces and they gradually get more complicated. The colour dictates the number of pieces in the puzzle to easily differentiate between difficulty level and adds another layer of learning. They are a great stepping stone from wooden puzzles to more advanced puzzles.They are of good quality, the cardboard is nice and thick, and doesn't bend, which is nice.

The shapes of the puzzle pieces are quite similar to one another. Older children can probably tell when a piece doesn’t fit, but at the recommended age of 3 years old, with a bit of extra force, the wrong piece could fit into another, making the child believe they got the right one. They should have made the pieces more distinct. Otherwise, the quality of the pictures and the sturdiness of the puzzle are good, unlike dollar store puzzles. However, it’s still a bit pricey for $20. I would recommend buying it on sale.
