This is awesome. Not only the best Stevie Ray Vaughn album but superb sound quality. I use a Koetsu which hates bad pressings and it loves this one.

Stevie Ray certainly progressed with his guitar playing well beyond what his older brother Jimmie could achieve, but I'm sure Jimmie helped and encouraged him in their much earlier days to become the maestro he ended up as. This album is a nice snippet to showcase Stevie's prowess and it's well worth having. For me, I don't think he ever quite matched Duane Allman's remarkable feel for the guitar but did some stunningly good stuff, and I like the way that he could take off into brilliantly inspired improvisations - when he got into them - in a way that would even give Buddy Guy a run for his money. I've always liked his interpretation of the Elmore James classic 'The Sky Is Crying' and here it is on this album in all it's glory.Eamonn

from beginning to end, a masterpiece, and a wonderful way to remember stevie ray vaughan. it isn't 5 stars because it has taken approximately 2 months to finally settle everything concerning wrong item sent / returned followed by damaged item sent / returned

Analogue Productions version of this record is the only way to go! Easily one of the best sounding records in my collection

mais j'aurais du mettre 4 étoiles pour ce "post mortem "chef d'oeuvre. Pour les commentaires sur le contenu (excellent), lire les commentaires précédents, la superbe version de "The sky is crying", "Close to you " de Willie "I'm The blues" Dixon, qui balance superbement, "Little Wing" d'Hendrix ...etc. Rien à dire non plus sur le livret, sobre, bien fourni, avec deux très belles photos noir et blanc : une de SRV, et une avec les 4 musiciens, "Double trouble" bien sûr, mais aussi le clavieriste Reese Wynans, crédité sur le même pied d'égalité que ses 3 comparses de génie. Et puis un long texte écrit par Dan Forte biographe de SRV.... non tout çà c'est génial. "Mais alors Ramone ??". et ben... 38 minutes... much too short. la maison de disque aurait sûrement pu nous ajouter quelques perles lives, des sessions avec Albert, ou avec son frangin par exemple qui doivent bien trainer quelque part !
