This is a weather rated, durable electrical cord that can be used to start a number of different snow blowers and for any other electrical extension cord needs you might have. I have a Craftsman snow blower and this works well and the 10 foot length is perfect for my needs although others may prefer a longer cord. Some have commented on the stiffness of this cord, particularly in really cold weather. I keep mine indoors except when needed so this works well for me. Given its weather rating, I may use it to power some outdoor Christmas decorations next year (as long as it doesn't snow!)

It snowed enough to use my snow blower for the first time in two years in southeast Pennsylvania. In that time, the cord for the electric starter got itself lost. I needed a new one. Ever start a snow blower manually in 15-degree weather? That was my motivation to look for a new cord. The creatively named Snow Blower Electrical Starter Cord arrived in time for the big event. One end of the cord fit my snow blower perfectly. The other end, unsurprisingly, fit the electric outlet. Some products only need to do one thing well and this cord was up to the task. One push of the starter button yielded a satisfying crank followed by the classic sound of an OHV engine roaring to life. Hooray! At 10 feet, the cord is long enough for my purposes. Seems a little stiff in really cold weather but the electricity didn’t care.I like the cord. It worked for me at the right time and I’ll get another just like it when this one gets lost.

I got this extension power cord for snow blowers because, I need a dedicated power extension cord for my snow blower. This cord has a single female outlet so it plugs into the snow blower electric-starter connector and fits easily [the three-outlet extension cords do not easily fit onto that connector]. At 16 AWG and 10 ft long the cord is sized for the purpose, though perhaps a little short because sometimes the outside outlet is not convenient to the location of the snow blower. But too long isn’t good either. There is rarely anything special about a power cord and this is isn’t special either. One thing that would make it special would to be more flexible in the cold. Obviously this cord would only be used in the cold weather when trying to start a snow blower. Outside, in the cold, the cord takes a ‘set’ and become difficult to uncoil. A silicone rubber outer sheath would stay flexible even in the cold. Besides the length, this is the only negative I see to this cable. But I’m afraid these issues reduce the rating by a star.

The Sharutia 10’ Snow Blower Electrical Starter Cord is a nice, good quality, heavy duty, outdoor “extension cord” …even though the product description calls it a “snow blower electrical starter cord replacement for Ariens snowblower”. This cord also worked with my Simplicity 1222 EE snowblower. The stamp on the wire indicated that this is a 16 AWG, 300 Volt cable. The 16 AWG (American Wire Gauge) is a pure copper conductor that transfers maximum power. According to UL, this cable operates on 125 volts / 13 Amp power with a max of 300 volts. The cord is also stamped with SJTW…What does SJTW mean on extension cord? SJTW means hard service cable – built thermoplastic jacket – 300 volts – weather-resistant for outdoors. Service is S, J is Junior, T is Vinyl thermoplastic, W-A means Approved weather. If you are looking for a nice, high quality, heavy duty outdoor 10’ extension cord, then this is the one for you. The only disadvantage is the price…comparable cords can be found at lower prices at your neighborhood home improvement stores.
