Completely useless, unfortunately. Supplied gaskets are too big and rigid to fit, so they had to be trimmed. Got everything tightened up, inverted my CO2 bottle, opened valve, nada. Turning the small knob on the side does nothing until it is open far enough to leak rapidly. Very disappointing - chucked it in my scrap metal pile for recycling.

Been selling overseas refills and this is the best connector I've ever use. Just really really over slowly so that the valve does not block. Maybe a 1/2" opening. If it does lock, just release pressure and try again.

It took me a while to get it to work even with tips from others. Here is what I did to get mostly full (95%?) bottles:1 tighten adapter on to supply tank to the point it doesn't leat from that side2. First put in freezer for a few hours and then screw on the sodastream CO2 bottle to hand tight and then back off so CO2 ca escape when supply tank is opened3. Open CO2 supply and then back off so the flow is very light but handle turning will not suddenly jump the pressure up4. Tighten on the sodastream tank all the way5. Open the main tank very slowly - should hear sodastream tank filling6. Leave for a few minutes and then shut valves and remove when filling sound is no longer evident6a. A brand new filled sodastream tank weighs 1150ish g and an empty one is 750ish7. A first fill gets me to 850-900 g. It took me three freeze/fill cycles to get to 1100+ g.8. For me the thrill of beating the systems makes it somewhat worth it. I got a 20 lb CO2 tank and it costs me 35 dollars to exchange locally for a full tank. My estimate is $2/bottle to fill. I have a local shop that will fill sodastream CO2 bottles for 5. I think of you have that locally and can get your hands on 3-4 empty soda stream CO2 bottles, it might be a better way to go.

So this works well on the old blue style SodaStream CO2 canisters BUT when you open the CO2 valve to fill you have to crank it open 1 mm at a time VERY slowly until you hear the CO2 going into the bottle and then stop cuz it only refills if you go super super slowly and it takes a couple minutes for it to refill but you can hear it. If you open it even a little more it will stop due to the safety valve and then you'll have to start over by closing the tank valve and then releasing the adapter pressure and then tightening the adapter pressure knob and then once again open the CO2 canister super duper slowly like amazingly slow until you hear the flow. Also there is a brass filter in there that originally I thought was blocking the flow but it's just a filter. I poked it out with a screwdriver. You can pop it out or leave it in it's supposed to filter impurities from your CO2 sourceAlso I froze the canister overnight and I now have a full pound filling the CO2 canister. It's even more C02 than you get directly from SodaStreams canisters ðŸ¤

After struggling with 2 other different types of CO2 bottle adapters, this is the one!! It works perfectly with my 60L Ninja Thirsti tank. I use a 20lb welding CO2 cylinder and not the syphon type. Simply screw this adapter on the large tank, pull the 60L out of the freezer (freezing overnight ensures a full fill) and screw it on. Then turn the whole setup upside down so the liquid CO2 will flow out of the valve. Turn the valve just until you hear the pressure start to equalize then after a couple minutes when all the sound stops, turn off the valve. Open the side pressure release screw until the tiny bit of gas escapes then unscrew the 60L tank and remove the adapter. All done.
