Sovvid clarinet reeds are made of grown-up high quality reeds, grown in sufficient sunlight, harvested by hand. Featuring a thinner vamp and unfiled cut designed for ease of play and a traditional blank for a clear sound.

Thinner Reed Tips

For easy playing. Ideal for students and beginners. Reeds for clarinet 3/3.5 are a little bit thicker, perfect for experienced learners and players.

Unfiled Cut Design

The unfiled cut design provides a clearer sound for those seeking the purest sound.

Size 5 Clarinet Reeds

There are reeds with strength 1.5/2.0/2.5/3.0/3.5 in Sovvid store, the higher the number, the harder the reed, and the more breath it needs.

2 Steps

Place the thin part of the whistle up and align the edges of the whistle closely. Install the checkpoint screw to fix the reed.

How to Install?

Put the thin end of the reed into a container of water to soak.
Lay the flat side of the reed on the flat side of the mouthpiece. Carefully place the ligature on the reed.
Make sure the tip of the mouthpiece is almost perfectly aligned with the tip of the reed.
Use your thumbs to adjust the sides of the reed without touching the tip.
Tighten the screw to make sure the ligature does not slip, but not too tight.

Warm Tips

The clarinet reeds work best when they are wet, soak it before the installation.
Be careful when installing or placing, if the tip is broken or curved, the reed cannot be used again.
After each use, it is recommended to gently wash with water, and use paper to absorb the remaining water, put it in the ventilation and store it the case.
The spots on the reeds don't affect the use at all. During the growth of the reeds, some parts are not covered by the leaves. When the dew gathered on these parts, and after exposure to the sun, the spots are formed. Some professionals specially choose this kind of clarinet reeds, since that means the reeds are grown in sufficient sunlight.
