I bought this to use with a winch on my Jeep.It is extremely heavy duty, a bit bigger than I was expecting, but that is a good thing.It has a very solid feel and seems to be constructed with high quality materials, so I expect it to last forever.I won't use it, but the lock is a nice touch if you are using this on your main battery line as a theft deterrent.

I got this unit as a disconnect for the winch on my Jeep. I didn’t realize how substantial this product is…so substantial it won’t fit in the planned installation space. Lol. I’ll figure it out. But all in all, seems pretty heavy duty for 12v DC.

The tactile Thunk of switch closing is vary satisfying. I installed in on an old John Deere; so old that it doesn't have a key and my could cause the engine to crank if I didn't unhook the battery. It seems to handle the amperage draw of my 2-cylinder tractor ok, so I am inclined to believe their 500 A claim. While I like the bracket they included for mounting, the bolts they included are too small and the handle fits very loosely. It's not going to fall off, but the handle jiggles. You can throw away the included lock. A solid hit with a hammer would break it off and it takes very little skill to pick it open. I didn't end up needing the included cable ends, but they look find too. Swap out the lock for something better, get more appropriately sized hardware and you have yourself a pretty nice battery disconnect.
