My neighborhood squirrels love it. It's easy to put together and is made of good quality wood.

I love this and so do my critters! It keeps the food dry in bad storms and keeps the raccoons out! My birds visit it too. I like the way you can see into the back of the jar and watch the animals and tell when it needs to be refilled, not like some of the metal feeders. Its a nice size for a wider tree and is secure with the screws. It is also easy to put together. The jar is safe and secure with the small wooden piece at the front to hold it in place. If only it came with a bag of nuts, since it gets emptied everyday!

We have only had it up one day, but I think it will be way better than leaving peanuts on the ground where predators can see and maybe catch the squirrels! Plus, it's really cute and was the least expensive jar/house feeder! It also has an easy to use board that slides in at the end of the jar to hold it in place, so no need for a tie down. I will post more after we see how it goes with the squirrels!Note after we've had it up a while: The jar in the feeder is very easy to get out to refill and to put back. The squirrels love it! I added two photos of a squirrel getting a peanut.

This "total assembly required" is junk wood. Cheap, Chinese, brittle, and will disintegrate in your hands. The pre-drilled holes don't line up, the wood insert will not fit in the assigned hole (and there are two), it's just junk. I was so excited to get a squirrel feeder installed on my tree before the weather got cold again, but this was total disappointment. Don't waste your money, look for a better quality, or better yet, go to a local craft festival and support a woodworking person who has some pride in their work. And, by the way, what's up with that goofy ladder. Is it suggested that you install it a foot off the ground?? Unbelievable.
