It is a bit awkward to use. It does work, but I have to play with the connector to make it work right.

Works great with my Yaesu FT5DR. You will have to turn the volume down when using this headset on the FT5. The sound quality is very clear with very positive reports from other HAM,s on the microphone using on both digital (C4FM) and analog. Obviously, the sound quality is better on digital, Wires-X or Hot-Spot. I typically use the in line PTT button versus VOX but I do wish it had a PTT/VOX lock-off switch to prevent accidental transmissions while trekking about.

The only 2 reasons I gave a 4star instead of a 5 star is because clip on the PTT should be stronger and the head band part needs a little more redesigning. While going through the woods on a training for SAR the headband slipped off and got stuck in my hair. Otherwise it is great. I hear better with the head set and others hear me better than with just the handytalk. I have it for a Yaesu 70DR and my Yaesu FT3

Lightweight and very comfortable headset. It works as advertised on my FT-2DR using both VOX and PTT. Audio is clear and signal reports report clear audio.
