Bought this and the Mares for comparison. Pocket too small and the Mares mesh quality is better. The plastic bottom looks like it will break soon, specially when exposed to salt, rubbing and all day in sun in the boat.

This bag is very good and convenient to carry loads of stuff for snorkeling etc.However, only four stars instead of five because the cord is rather hard to close completely (does not slide smoothly) though easier to open, and the plastic locking system is sometimes tricky to block the cord. Room for improvement here...

Used this to hold two sets of adult snorkeling gear (with fairly long fins) for a two week trip. At the start of the trip, I thought it was a little frivolous to spend this much on a bag for our gear, but by the end, I was glad I did. Two sets of gear is a little heavier than I thought it would be (airport weighed the bag at 17 pounds - with the liquid items like sunscreen and mask defogger removed for transport, and it gets heavier if you add some wet towels/clothes and a couple full water bottles) and the comfortable straps made the hikes in more pleasant than they would have been otherwise. I thought the bag would be too big, but the dimensions were about right for two people, with enough extra space to make rummaging for gear easy without having a ridiculous amount of extra room. I agree with the other reviews that the drawstring clasp comes loose rather easily. I just got in the habit of winding the loose end around the clasp a couple times after drawing it tight, and had no issues.

I put all of my kayaking gear for the day in the backpack. It is just the right size. One thing I hate about this is that the drawstring lock is not strong enough and the bag opens up. I usually end up putting some kind of knot on the drawstring which makes it less convenient.
