If you're at the stage in lapsteel where you're looking for an affordable tonebar to get started with, it's perfect. The only reason to move up would be if you wanted more custom weight/size/shape. I'm quite happy with it.

It's okay as a starter bar or casual use, but as other reviews have mentioned, this has some uncomfortable sharp corners. I filed them down a bit, not sure what kind of "steel" this is but I noticed it's very soft metal beneath the chrome layer. I suspect it wouldn't withstand heavy playing over years of use.I ended up getting a Shubb stainless bar for 3x the price and am much happier with it.

It does have kinda sharp edges as others have mentioned. But, comparatively, it’s cheap, decent weight, and not so uncomfortable you can’t use it. For me, just experimenting with lap steel, it’s perfect. Probably not for a professional or even advanced level player.
