Calculator for Circular or Rounded Fire Pits or Fire Bowls How much fire glass will you need? To calculate the amount of fire pit glass needed to fill a circular fire pit, use the following equation: Diameter X Diameter X Depth, divided by 24 = pounds of fire glass needed. We recommend a minimum of 2” of fire glass depth for most installations. For example, a 25" diameter fire pit at the recommended 2” of fire glass depth: 25 X 25 X 2, divided by 24 = 52 lbs.

To calculate the amount of fire pit glass needed to fill a square or rectangular fire pit, use the following equation: Width X Length X Depth, divided by 19 = pounds of fire glass needed. We recommend a minimum of 2” of fire glass depth for most installations. For example, a 48" X 14" fire pit at the recommended 2” of fire glass depth: 48 X 14 X 2, divided by 19 = 70 lbs.

They don’t sparkle when fire is in. They are just there. I thought they would shine. However for the money they look better than the old worn stones that were there.

The glass pellets are really pretty but I mainly got this set of mixed colors for the copper color. We've used the fire pit for one week with these pellets, in the evening for a couple of hours. The picture shows how many of the copper pellets have cracked or totally broke from the heat. You'll also notice in that bucket there's only one black one and one white one. The black and white seems to be holding up so far, but it's only been a week. If your buying the copper color just beware..

We made our own fire table by converting a fire pit into one that uses gel fuel in a small container surrounded by these stones. The stones arrived in great condition, three separate bags (clear, dark and caramel) and only a few chipped out of 10 lbs. They look great and the colour combination is especially pretty with the light from the fire bouncing off of the glass. In our configuration the fire doesn’t actually touch the stones directly but surrounds them to look like it is coming right out of the glass;I can’t speak to performance in direct fire contact like a gas fire table would be. I am very happy with this purchase.
