Wood Pellet Grill Working Process:
Pellets compressed from sawdust and wood shavings fill a hopper and are then fed into a burn pot using an electric auger system. The auger, which is a long screw, delivers pellets to the burn pot based on the speed dictated by the unit’s thermostat. As the burn pot ignites, the pellets burn. Heat then carries through the home via convection (air-driven) means, thus allowing air flow and a blend of warm and cool air to maintain steady, even burn temperatures. A heat exchanger separates the smoke fumes from the warm air, thereby warming the room without smoking everyone out.

I bought pit boss’ motor for $76 and this one just to compare, and its exactly the same thing. Absolutely no difference. So if you wanna save a chunk of money, get this one! If you can tell me which one the pit boss one is then you are incredible

If there is a difference between this motor and the one Traeger sells, it's the price. Traeger's auger motor is twice as much. They look exactly the same. I replaced my original motor with one of these and so far, so good. We will see how long it lasts but for now five stars.

Part ran well for the first 30 hrs. I clean mySmoker between cooks with a vacuum. I used traeger pellets. I sift my pellets before adding them to the hopper. I couldn’t have done anything more to prolong the life of this replacement motor. Sadly died in its first month since replacement.

The part arrived quickly. I had read reviews on similar models with prices ranging and every model regardless the price seemed to have similar reviews. This one had alot of reviews with mostly positive ones so I purchased this one. The part itself is easy to install, but getting to it is the hardest part. It has been used five times since the install a week ago and it is working as it should.

Noticed the Auger wasn't running in my Traeger grill. Took the grill apart and noticed my motor wasn't even engaging when I turned the grill on. Immediately knew I needed another motor.Bought this for half the price of the Traeger name brand model. Just have to remove the old motor with a 7/64" allen wrench and a set of needle nose pliers for the nut. Very easy to do. While you are there, you might as well clean out your auger, since your auger could have been jammed in the first place, causing your motor to burn up. The auger is just held in place with a single screw, you cant miss it and its all very easy to take apart and install.Definitely came in clutch as my grill died less than a week before Thanksgiving. Cant beat the free 2 day shipping and paying half the price of a name brand motor.
