Stanley 77-110 Intelli-Sensor Stud Finder is a handy tool everyone should have. It easily locates the edges of studs or joists through drywall and other common wall materials. The electronic audio and visual signals are emitted once the edge of the stud is detected. It has an automatic calibration switch for easy turn-on operation, and automatic shut-off for longer battery life. It features hHigh-impact, heavy duty ABS case, with non-marring pads for wall protection, and a pencil notch for marking stud edges. Pocket size for easy storage. Requires a 9 volt battery (not included).

I bought this at a local hardware store and will be returning it. The dumb thing won't calibrate, like others have reported, there's a steady AC presence everywhere. It could be static on the walls, fine, but I tried in a room that had a humidifier running for 6 hours and tried on the wall right by the humidifier. Also tested a way cheaper stud finder to see if it was the walls, or user error, and it worked just fine. Save your money. This thing is junk.

The local calibration is a very good feature. Makes finding stud easy regardless of material covering them and available at a very good price compared to others. Stanley is a known and respected brand.

I bought this because a friend had one that he bought like, 12 years ago, and his works great. Now I have one that works great also. Plus it warns of electric wires in the wall. Absolutely great.

You are just as well off to guess where the studs are. This thing has more false positives than the justice system.Absolute garbage. Complete crap.

Never calibrate, this thing just emit a loud non-stop screeching beep. I tired this thing everywhere and it never worked. As im writing this, its in the garbage.

I haven't fully tested it yet, but as I am experienced with a similar one in the past, it appears to work just fine but read the instructions first cause many make the mistake, thinking it finds the studs center while what it really does is find the edges of the suds plus this one also finds electricity

I did not buy this on Amazon but at a local store. It is going back tomorrow. It was useless. Worse than useless because it appeared to calibrate. "Found" studs on 16" centres. When I drilled through the dry wall...nothing but space. Twice!Don't buy this product.

I currently own my second Stanley STHT77403 stud finder. The reason I say it's my second is because the first one wouldn't work, and neither does this one. Not only does the device makes an awful high-pitched screeching noise that sends dogs and cats into a frenzy, but it refuses to calibrate on ANY of my walls. What this means is standing at the wall, holding down the activation button, listening to the awful non-stop screeching from the device while you wait for it to calibrate -- but it never does. Not in 3 seconds like the manual suggests, and not in 60 seconds like my patience allowed. You really do get what you pay for and I'm sorry I bought this product. If you're looking for a stud finder, don't get this one.

I received my stud finder and it was not the one in the picture I don't know what happened but sure not the same one I'm keeping it because I need for work and have used it but it sure wasn't as shown
