I used this cable daily for my monitor and it worked fine and then after 6 months it died. It's pretty ordinary that this has happened. I've also noticed a similar review as well. I'll be buying another from a different seller.

I bought this to connect my PC to a 4k monitor, but could not reliably get 4k video. Looking down the small print in the product description it mentions the maximum data rate of under 9 gigabits. However 4k video at 60Hz needs about twice that. In practice I couldn't even get HD resolution through this cable.(In fairness, a 4m DP cable is unlikely to work that fast without an active repeater, but they really ought to warn you rather than sell something that is useless for most customers).

Like other StarTech products I have this cable works flawlessly. This one is used to connect a upgrade MacPro (2012 5,1) with aRadeon RX 580 to a StarTech mDP 2 port KM (SV231MDPU2) allowing me to switch my main screen between the MacPro and my lap.

Bought this cable in last November after black Friday. I bought a HP Envy 27s 4K monitor which supports 4K resolution at 60 fps. My PC's video card only has 4 mini-DP ports. So I used a converter to connect the mini-DP port to the HDMI port on the monitor. However, only 2K resolution could be supported. That's the reason I bought this cable. And the 4K 60FPS mode was properly setup between the PC and monitor. That's a huge difference in image quality.Have been using the cable for the last couple of months. And there is issues so far.

I bought this cable to link my computers to my new 38inch LG display (LG 38WK95C-W) which have a resolution of 3840x1600 (almost 4k). I have 2 computers which work fine with it ( macbook pro 13, early 2015, macbook pro 15 late 2013). I get the full resolution at 60hz without any problem. great product at a good price.

OverviewI had one of my cables fail in my dual 4K monitor setup, and I couldn't get my spares to work because of a design flaw in my desktop case, where part of the case blocks thick plugs from seating properly.I chose this cable because the DisplayPort end is a little tapered so it would be easier to plug into my video card. I ended up buying two so that both monitors would be using the same cable. They worked great, the image is rock solid.The Good Parts* Perfectly clear 4K 60Hz signal on my monitors* Well made* Displayport end is tapered, which means it will fit in tight spotsCould Be Better* The cables aren't very thick. IMBALLAGGIO:Il prodotto, come tutti i prodotti startech che ho provato fino ad ora, dentro una bustina di plastica trasparente abbastanza resistente, con una stampa sul fronte della busta recante logo startech e descrizione tecnica del prodotto.MATERIALI:Il cavo risulta essere di ottima fattura e ha un ottimo spessore che comunque non ne impedisce la flessibilità. Connettori resistenti e di semplice inserimento.PERFORMANCE E IMPIEGO PRATICO:Premetto che lavorando nel web design da almeno 10 anni mi è capitato di utilizzare molti cavi di connessione. Spesso puo capitare di imbattersi in cavi particolarmente scadenti che generano svariati problemi quali: perdita di dati nel trasferimento immagine e conseguenti scatti in riproduzione video (soprattutto con schermi 4k), riproduzione colori non veritiera, latenza. Tutti questi problemi non si sono presentati con l'utilizzo di questo cavo. Utilizzato per collegare uno schermo 32 pollici 4k ad un macbook air, risulta perfettamente funzionante e riporta sia colori che frame in maniera fedele (merito anche dello schermo).CONCLUSIONI:Promosso a pieni voti, lo uso da due mesi per svariate ore al giorno e non mi ha mai dato problemi.SPEDIZIONE:Velocissima e precisa nello stile amazon.

This works really well to connect my 2560x1440 DisplayPort monitor to the mini DP connector on my Alienware M17x laptop. I chose StarTech in part because of their solid reliability: if you're not familiar with the Google Engineer who reviews USB-C cables, he consistently gives StarTech (among others) top marks for fully passing the rigorous USB-C specifications. While DisplayPort is much simpler in comparison, I'd rather pay an extra dollar or two for a company that engineers quality cables than pick a cheaper one that may fail down the road (I've had a few Monoprice HDMI cables die on me for no particular reason, so it's not a theoretical concern).

Startech products have always served me well. I ordered this cable to connect a monitor to my iMac, and have since then, give it to my mom to connect her Macbook Air to her TV. The cable is high-quality; I don't think it will break or bend in a way that will affect performance anytime soon. I've ordered some Chinese products that have bent and stopped working within days, and I feel now it's just not worth it.Cable is well made, works as advertised, and has no issues I can see. Five stars!

I bought this cable so I could use my Dell U2711 display with my Retina MacBook Pro and didn't want to spend the $100 for the overpriced Apple Dual-Link DVI adapter. It works well for me and can do video passthrough (2560x1440 @ 60 Hertz) and also appears to be able to do audio passthrough.Unfortunately, I can't actually test the audio passthrough since my Dell U2711 seems unable to take audio input from my computer and pass them on to my speakers and I do not have any other DisplayPort devices. I highly doubt this is the cable's fault though since the Dell was also having issues with audio passthrough over HDMI (apparently the Dell can only take a 2-channel PCM Stereo Input and the MacBook Pro won't do that).
