The manufacturer and grade of the rope these are fabricated from are not identified, so we can assume that they’re not made from the major-brand stuff, but it’s probably some generic UHMWPE. The knots are (I think) true button knots; there are no burned stubs of “bunny ears” from the vertical tails left by a diamond knot, and there’s the nice clockwise flow of the ropes that also support the button theory. I don’t think that there was any tapering of the knot tails before they were buried, because there is an abrupt change of diameter that you can feel where the tails end. That wouldn’t be so good if you were a circus high-wire performer relying on these at every night’s show, but it’s probably just fine for most of the people who are going to use these for getting a stuck vehicle moving again, hopefully never, but maybe once. Soft shackles usually fail at the noose anyway, because that’s the point where the whole device has the fewest strands of rope. Even if these might not perform at the full expensive-brand soft shackle's potential failure strength of about 2.25 times the rope's rated maximum load — and I certainly didn’t do any destructive testing — these are probably strong enough for most rare or occasional uses. If you’re doing industrial rigging, you’re not looking at a 20-buck pair of soft shackles anyway. I got them for self-rescue to pull a 750-pound sidecar rig out of the mud in case I do something dumb in the middle of nowhere, and these soft shackles are way overbuilt for that task.

Bought these to use on my tractors boom to lift farm equipment. Well made and seem durable. Cant beat the price. Far easier on the equipment then using chains. Well worth the money .
