Well made. Appears to be hand forged but is smooth and easily pushes through a wool blanket to securely fasten the blanket together. Neat old historic fastening device .

The pin came in a plaatic bag that was FULL of grease--which I guess is good cuz it otherwise would have rusted. There's a warning on the box about cancer and reproductive harm, though, which ooked me out pretty bad. Upon Carbon steel isn't carcinogenic so are they adding lead or some other toxic element? Or is it just because California is silly about cancer warnings?

I need to hold my poncho but I didn’t like those that were around on Amazon.But it has a big size and it hold the poncho very well.The needle is very pointy but it hold really well. They are made with great material.When you receive it it has oil on the bag. I am thinking about the corrosion so it will not affect the product.But I love it.

Afraid to use it and poke holes in my wool but I intend to save weight in thr cold and allows me to better wear my wool instead of packing on top of my bag. It came oiled so not sure if it eill rust in the future without oiling. Seems sturdy.

I love it. It is sturdy and holds my knit wrap beautifully. I wasn't quite sure how to work it, but I found a youtube video that showed me how it works. I love that it looks a lot like the cloak pins on Game of Thrones.
