I bought this before I did my research and realized how brittle alluminum is. the threaded rod is made of steel, but as stated the hook itself is aluminum. I'm giving it 4 stars Because it looks nice, and the advertising is correct. but I'm assuming it's more ornmental than useful.

Looks great once installed, didn’t need all the additional nuts that it comes with ended only using one to secure it to the rear strut brace.Instructions or a link to an instal video would be great. Oh yeah and I wouldn’t trust it to hold up if you actually have to tow someone or be pulled out of a sticky situation. It’s more for show as it’s not rated to pull the weight.

I do like the look of the tow hook on the car and I think it could be used on the track/towing but the way you install it properly is vague in my opinion. I removed the 2 nuts and screw in the tow hook till I liked the way it looked and remembered about where it was. I then proceeded to remove it and put in one of the nuts to about where it should go and then once it was where I wanted the tow hook I removed it again and put on the other nut and tighten both nuts going inverse (bottom going upwards and top going downwards). Looks aggressive on my car (imo) and should be useful for the winter but could be designed to better install.
