I think I bought this for my kids (7 & 8) out of 90's nostalgia! They played with them for about an hour and then got totally bored and the thing died and they didn't see the point in hatching the egg/raising the chick all over again! All in all I'd say a waste of money!

I never had a regular tamagotchi as a kid, so my point of comparison is my gen 1 digimon tama (an original, not the cheat mode 20th anniversary ones). The bubbled screen is dimmer and sometimes the image looks doubled. The buttons are smaller and harder to push (and someone said these are more reactive than the originals too) so I push them with my nails a lot. The sound is louder and clearer (this could be annoying tbh, but it does get itself heard). The case is cute, but I'm not sure how well the print will hold up just being in my pocket. Works fairly well, good deal for under 20$.

I bought this as a gift for my friend from middle school and I got one for myself... hear me out.. how in the world did a 5th grader keep this egg alive for 32 days, having to go to class and not be able to care for it while in there (I got it taken away on a Friday when I forgot to turn the sound off, so my teacher took it up and forgot to give it back by the end of the day... so it died over the weekend, yes I was mad) but a 35 year old who works from home and has all the time in the world can't keep it alive more than 7 days?! I've restarted it 3 times and each time, it dies on day 7. somethings wrong with this thing lol
