Got these for rebuilding an Emco Unimat 3 lathe and popped two of them on the spindles and they held straight away. They seem to be fine and the 'pliers' work as expected. If I had to pick anything apart, The pliers don't easily spread the 2 smaller sizes and require some 'intervention', however, aside from that, all is well.

Specialized tools like this can run hundreds of dollars for actual mechanics grade but for the backyard hobbyist this is just fine. It comes with loads of extra ring clips to lose over the rest of your life while everything sits in a neat package and waits for you to use it again years down the road. I'd buy it again but one will probably do for the rest of my life.

First time using this tool, it took a little getting used to it, however, happy there were lots of different rings to choose from as I lost one, it was for clothes dryer parts. Job got done, dryer is working perfectly, actually better than before, so my husband says, lol.
